ClickSafe Club CIC Launches 3-Day LEGO Robotics & Future Engineering Pathways Bootcamp this Easter

28/03/25, 10:45

ClickSafe Club CIC is proud to announce the launch of its LEGO Robotics & Future Engineering Pathways Bootcamp, a dynamic 3-day programme designed to spark curiosity, confidence, and career ambitions in young people aged 13–16. Running from April 8–10, 2025, this immersive bootcamp blends hands-on robotics, coding, and future-focused career exploration to ignite a passion for engineering and technology among participants—especially those from underrepresented communities.

In today’s conversations about equity in tech—particularly in fields like MedTech—there is growing recognition of the need for diverse voices in designing and developing the technologies that shape our future. However, true equity doesn’t start at the design table; it starts far earlier—with equal access to quality STEM education for every child, regardless of background.

Children from underserved communities often face barriers long before they reach career age: lower attainment in STEM subjects, fewer extracurricular STEM opportunities, and a lack of role models who reflect their identity in the tech space. These challenges, coupled with systemic biases and misconceptions about who belongs in tech, can limit a child’s belief in their own potential.

That’s why ClickSafe Club CIC was created—to lay the groundwork for equity by providing meaningful, early, and inclusive STEM experiences. Our work is informed by local research and driven by community insight, revealing that many families still undervalue STEM education due to historic exclusion and a lack of visibility. As highlighted in national reports like NFER’s “Building Foundations,” without targeted early interventions, these opportunity gaps only deepen over time.

This Easter’s LEGO Robotics Bootcamp is more than just a workshop—it’s a vision for the future. A future where tech is built by everyone, for everyone. A future made possible when all children, from all communities, are given the tools, support, and belief to see themselves as engineers, coders, and changemakers.

The bootcamp is designed to be inclusive, culturally responsive, and career-connected. Over three days, students will explore:

• Robotics through LEGO Education Spike Prime kits (donated by the Institute of Engineering and Technology)

• Block-based coding & Python programming

• Real-world engineering challenges including elements from the FIRST LEGO League

• Future pathways including apprenticeships, scholarships, and university advice.

They’ll also engage in STEM career talks with diverse speakers, including Amazon Future Engineer scholar and volunteers from the University of Manchester Women in Science & Engineering Society.

The bootcamp is fully booked, with spots filled the same day registration opened, which shows a need for initiatives such as this. Students from Dean Trust Ardwick, Trinity CoFE High School, Cedar Mount Academy, and Manchester Academy are confirmed to attend. With no prior coding experience required, this event opens the door for every participant to begin a journey into innovation.

ClickSafe Club CIC exists to bridge the digital divide through free STEM education, online safety and digital skills programmes tailored for underserved communities from South East London (Woolwich) and Manchester UK. By embedding culturally relevant teaching, representation, and hands-on learning, the organisation is actively dismantling barriers to tech education and future opportunity. In today’s conversations about equity in tech—particularly in fields like MedTech—there is growing recognition of the need for diverse voices in designing and developing the technologies that shape our future.
